Ubuntu 18.04 MariaDB10.4 upgrade

MariaDB 10.3 > MariaDB10.4 업그레이드

  1. Check the MariaDB versions currently installed on the server
# mysqladmin -p version

2. MariaDB root access

# sudo mysql -u root -p

3. SET GLOBAL innodb_fast_shutdown = 0; input

# SET GLOBAL innodb_fast_shutdown = 0;

Enter after ctrl + c and enter Exits

4. MariaDB full backup

# mysqldump -u root -p -A > /DBbackup.sql

Reference : MariaDB Backup Recovery

# mysql -u root -p < DBbackup.sql

5. Input in the following order

# sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
# sudo apt-key adv –fetch-keys ‘https://mariadb.org/mariadb_release_signing_key.asc’
# sudo add-apt-repository ‘deb [arch=amd64,arm64,ppc64el] http://mirror.mva-n.net/mariadb/repo/10.4/ubuntu bionic main’
  • Determining which version is installed (Search existing installed version and the installed version can be marked)
# sudo apt-cache policy mariadb-server

6. Installing MariaDB

# sudo apt update
# sudo apt install mariadb-server

Progress of the installation of (Y / N) In Y type

Since root password entry

7. Check the installation status

# sudo service mysql status
  • Check php module works
# sudo apt-cache policy php7.3-mysql
  • If the installation is not installed
# sudo apt-get install php7.3-mysql
